Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are gels that are injected in order to restore volume to certain areas of the face. Many contain a substance that replicates naturally occurring sugar molecules which attract and hold water from your own body to assist with skin hydration. These Fillers are injected under the skins surface to provide a youthful and smoother appearance to your skin.

Fillers add volume and plump small areas such as lips and add extra volume to larger areas such as cheeks. Fillers can be used in conjunction with anti wrinkle injections to relax facial muscles which in turn subtly restores a youthful appearance.

- Lips

Dermal Fillers are injected into areas that have lost plumpness and volume.

Q. What is involved in the treatment?

Dermal Fillers are injected with a very fine needle. Some Dermal Fillers have a local anaesthetic in the filler which makes treatment more comfortable.

Dermal Fillers last between 12 - 18 months depending on skin type, lifestyle choices and skin care regime.

Q. Is treatment safe?

At Liquid Beauty only proven and tested Fillers are used. These Fillers can be reversed if needed.

Dermal Fillers should not be used:

- If you suffer from certain medical conditions or on certain types of medications

- If pregnant or breast feeding

It is vital during your consultation you inform us of and past or present medical issues or concerns no matter how minor or irrelevant they may seem. Medications and any alternative therapies need to also be mentioned to ensure they do not react adversely post treatment.

It is important to bear in mind that these solutions are injected directly into the skin, therefor there is a chance minor side effects may occur. These include, redness, bruising and swelling. These usually subside within 24-48 hours, although some moderate bruising may last as long as 10 -14 days.

Post Treatment Instructions:

As expected post any medical grade procedure, there are some post treatment instructions that should be adhered to in order to ensure a successful treatment  outcome.

Immediately post treatment , up to 4 hours after

- Do not apply any makeup or touch the treated area as this can introduce bacteria into the injection site that can potentially lead to infection as well as possibly displacing the injected product.

24 hours post treatment

- Do not rub the treated area.

- Do not engage in any form of strenuous exercise.

- Do not use a sauna.

2 weeks post treatment

- Do not have any massages or facials to the treated area.

- Or any other treatment for that matter to the treated area.

After these timelines normal activities can recommence.

This information is vital as it reduces the possibility of infection or any other adverse reaction to occur.
